ITS OPS has established a co-location facility model for departmental servers. This facility enables departments to co-locate their critical servers in ITS' main data center. This environment includes:

  • uninterruptible, clean power
  • environmentally conditioned
  • 100Mb/s or GigE network connectivity
  • remote console access provisioning
  • secure rack space only accessible by department assigned staff

By placing departmental servers in this environment enhances reliability of the services provided by these machines departments can:

  • recover departmental space
  • protect against power interruptions
  • keep equipment cooled to specificiations (especially during summer and fall months)
  • ensure secure accsss while still having physical and remote access to the devices

Servers must be rack mountable to fit this provisioning model.
