ITS Operations and Production Support group offers departments
- weekly backups of entire system
- daily backups of any changes made in the last 24 hours
- off-site storage of the previous week's backups for disaster recovery purposes
- restoration response times from 1hr to 1 day depending on the impact of the data loss.
This service is not available for Apple's Mac platforms or for workstation backups. However, if user files are stored on departmental servers instead of desktop computers, backup of those servers would achieve the same goal. ITS currently uses this model for its own central servers and existing ITS services level agreements (SLA's) with campus departments.
